Troubles began early for the Sixth Dynasty, with spreading famine, growing waves of refugees, and discontent in the provinces. Local nobles begin to assert independence, suffering causes discontent, and the sun begins to set on the Solar Cult of Ra. The pyramids of this dynasty are cheap and poorly constructed shadows of the earlier dynasties.
